apple time flies event 2020

It is that time of the year when Apple usually announces it’s upcoming flagship iPhone. Well, they did call for an event on September 15, but as it turns out, Apple did not say a word about the most awaited iPhone 12 series.

Although, the Time Flies Apple Event had plenty of exciting reveals. The Apple Watch 6, an economical Apple Watch SE, the all new iPad 8th gen and the iPad Air were the main highlights of the show. There was some word about the Apple services as well. Let us dig deeper about what they had in store for us.

Time Flies Apple Event – The Apple Watch 6 Looks Good!

Following their premium watch lineup, Apple launched the Apple Watch 6. A 40mm GPS model would cost you £379/$399, and the 44mm is priced at £409/$429. If you wish to buy the LTE variants, you would have to add another £100 to those prices. In terms of looks and feel, it resembles its predecessor a lot. The screen size also depends on the model you buy.

What’s New?

With the new always-on display, users would be able to access Control Center, Notification Center and change watch faces without actually waking up the watch. The display performs up to 2.5 times better in outdoor environments.

The major upgrade is the presence of a blood-oxygen monitor in this one. The sensor fit in the watch can measure the amount of oxygen in your blood in 15 seconds.

The new S6 processor is about 20%, and more battery efficient; offering 18 hours of battery life (what the company claims). It runs on the new Watch OS 7.

The Watch 6 SE Might Be A Breakthrough!

In recent times, Apple has revamped its branding and is now focusing on the price of its products more than ever before. The iPhone SE 2 launched earlier this year, is an example of the same.

It is pretty clear that Apple Watch SE is Apple’s affordable lineup. Adding to the same, the Apple Watch SE would start at £269/$279 for a GPS only model and £319/$329 for a hybrid; GPS + cellular model. Essentially, it is an update to the Watch 3. With a 30% larger display, and the S5 system in place, it is twice as fast and handy.

Here Are Some Figures!

The display is a 1.78” OLED touchscreen(~326 ppi) , with 3D Touch functionality. Another major upgrade is the brightness of the display, which is going to be 1000 nits. The watch would be powered by 1GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory, along with cellular or GPS connectivity, depending on the model you buy.

Apple says that they have fit in their latest pair of microphone and speaker. This would not only help in interacting with the device, but also in high-quality phone calls.

These Features Are Common Among Both The Watches!

It comes with the support of WatchOS 7, Apple’s latest. The sensors, such as the accelerometer, always-on altimeter and the gyroscope are best-in-class. With a microphone built in, it also has the capability to perform an international emergency call, Emergency SOS. Another very useful feature is the fall detection. The watch automatically detects if it’s falling and turns off the screen, to avoid any possible damage.

The new Family Setup, allows anyone to use an Apple Watch without an iPhone, which wasn’t possible earlier. Owing to the pandemic and the situation around us, Apple has also added a hand wash detection and reminder feature. You can perform your favourite workouts as well, with guided videos on the watch or on a connected Apple device. It is available in 3 finishes, which are all very elegant and beautiful.

Celebrating The 10 Year Anniversary – New Apple iPads

Being the major event this year, Apple called it “Time Flies” in memory of their first iPad that was launched 10 years ago. This time around, there are two new products for fans to enjoy. The all new iPad Air (4th gen) £579/$599 and the iPad 8th Generation from £329/$329. While the former is closer to the iPad Pro in look and feel, the later is just the previous generation iPad with an improved Apple A12 Bionic chipset and the support of iPadOS14.

Fastest Apple Processor In A Device!

The biggest upgrade is the fastest A14 Bionic chipset, being the latest and most powerful processor from Apple so far. It has a hexa-core CPU, a quad-core GPU and a 16-core neural engine for machine learning. This brings more power and processing capabilities to the iPad than ever. With the support of the latest gen Apple pencil, you can do wonders with this iPad. It also supports the Apple Magic Keyboard, and can easily replace your current laptop.

We also get to see the most awaited Type-C port. The device comes in 5 different colors. You can get yourself a 64GB variant, or a 256GB variant, along with the WiFi or Wifi + Cellular configuration.

We Might Expect An Event Next Month

Now that the Time Flies Apple Event is done, we look forwards as to whether we will get to see another event in the next month, for the most awaited iPhone series. The event was shot in the famous Apple Park in California. There is something so distinctive about the way Apple presents their products and their brand in general; you could recognise it in the very first look. This is perhaps the most stand-out aspect of Apple. The new iPhone series phones are also sure to be as distinctive and sleek as the rest of Apple’s products.
