Apple iPhone 13 Event On September 14th

Apple has confirmed it is having an iPhone 13 event on September 14th.

The “California streaming” event will likely be focused on iPhone 13, as well as Apple Watch Series 7 and a possible third-generation AirPods upgrade.

As usual with recent events, you’ll be able to watch the whole thing live online when it kicks off at 6pm UK (NST) time.

What to expect from the iPhone 13 Event On September 14th

iPhone 13

The iPhone 13 will be the next iteration of the iPhone for 2021, but expect more ‘improvements’ than anything new in terms of design, this is very much an ‘S’ refresh year.

Unusually, more is known this year than usual. Spotted by MacRumors, Apple gave the game away in a new FCC filing for its MagSafe charger. The filing lists four new iPhone models and even goes so far as to describe all iPhone 12 models as “legacy” devices.

The lineup is highly likely to be the iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 13 Mini.

Expect improvements in the processor, battery life and camera. Some models may feature a faster ProMotion display, and there are rumours of LEO (Low Earth Orbit) satellite call connectivity for when you have no traditional signal. If correct, this would be the first marquee new feature in some time. There’s also the possibility of new Pink, Black, and Bronze colours.

Getting your hands on one may be harder this year though. Apple CFO Luca Maestri has already warned of supply constraints that “will primarily impact iPhone and iPad” this quarter.

Apple Watch Series 7

Apple is expected to unveil a new Apple Watch alongside its next-gen. iPhone — as has become the tradition. Series 7 could be the biggest upgrade yet, with a new design that sports sharper edges and larger displays.

We are likely to see new watch faces in watchOS 8 that take advantage of those bigger screens, but it’s still unclear whether or not they will mean Apple Watch Series 7 is incompatible with existing bands.

AirPods Gen 3

Apple is known to be working on a third-generation version of the AirPods, and its possible these updated versions could be ready to launch at the event also. If launched, expect a better battery life and a redesign with a shorter stem and body making them more similar to the ‌AirPods Pro‌.
